BSE's Market Capitalization Tops 23 Bln Leva
The market capitalization of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange has reached 23.3 bln leva (11.913 bln euros). The top 20 companies account for 71% of it.
BSE is getting closer to the developed markets in terms of this indicator. Its capitalization accounts for 47% of the GDP. Nowadays big companies on BSE are not that few, and 5 of them have a market value of more than 1 bln leva (511.291 mln euros).
Of course, the leader is still the Bulgarian Telecommunications Company with a market value of nearly 3.3 bln leva (1.687 bln euros), or 14% of the total BSE capitalization. The company will probably be delisted from the public register, after its sale is finalized.
Chimimport and First Investment Bank rank second and third in there terms, with 1.87 bln leva (956.115 mln euros), and 1.48 bln leva (756.711 mln euros), respectively. The other two companies with market capitalization of more than 1 bln leva are CB Bulgarian-American Credit Bank and Sopharma.
A majority stake in Insurance and Reinsurance Company DZI, which ranks eighth here, changed hands last week in a 727 mln leva (371.7 mln euros) deal. The insurer will probably be delisted from the public register as well.
Last month, the biggest climbers in the chart were Eurohold Bulgaria and Holding Patishta AD with market capitalizations of 382.4 mln leva (195.518 mln euros) and 362.9 mln leva (185.547 mln euros), respectively.
The stock of both companies rallied last week, and Eurohold Bulgaria floated its emission of new shares from the capital increase.
