Unemployment rate in July dipped 1.71 percentage points to 7.25% year-on-year and is getting closer to the average EU rate (6.9% in June).

The number of persons registered as unemployed fell to 268,446 in July, or 63,350 people less year-on-year. Unemployed Bulgarians are 6,374 less than in the previous month.

Unemployment is decreasing in all regions except for Yambol and Kardjali.

20.1% of unemployed citizens are younger than 29 years of age, 36.4% are over 50 years of age, 58.8% have been unemployed for years, 5.3% are disabled.

11,465 job vacancies have been annonced on the initial labor market in June, 856 of them on projects of The Law on Employment Promotion.

In July a total of 13,746 unemployed strated a job, 12,210 (88.8%) of them through the labor desk. A total of 8,835 (72.4%) people were employed on the initial labor market.

1,190 people were employed through projects of the Law on Employment Promotion, 58,975 on other Government employment programs, which is 313 job places more than in June.
