Wholesale prices of fruits and vegetables started going down in the outgoing week, said the
State Commission for Wholesale Markets on Sunday.

Hothouse tomatoes went up 2.9 per cent to 1.75 leva/kg while field tomatoes cheapened 12.2 per cent to 1.22 leva/kg on Friday. Hothouse cucumbers depreciated 12.3 per cent to 1.50 leva/kg and field cucumbers 25.3 per cent to 1.30 leva. Green peppers cheapened 8.7 per cent to 0.94 leva/kg. Potatoes were selling at 0.67 leva/kg (cheaper by 0.04 leva), and cabbages at 0.91 leva/kg (cheaper by 0.11 leva).

The wholesale price of Vitosha kashkaval (hard yellow cheese from cow's milk) increased 4.7 per cent to 8.68 leva/kg last week, and cow's cheese went 1.6 per cent down to 5.00 leva/kg.

Bottled cooking oil rose by 3.5 per cent to 2.35 leva/litre. Type 500 flour was selling at 0.81 leva/kg. Eggs gaind 0.01 leva to 0.20 leva apiece. Sugar was selling at 1.53 leva/kg.

Frozen chicken dropped 3.5 per cent (0.14 leva) to 3.91 leva/kg. Dry sausages were selling at 8.09 leva/lg on Friday, fresh sausages at 3.89 per cent (down 9.1 per cent) and frankfurters
at an average 3.15 leva/kg, about 8.2 per cent cheaper than the previous review period.
