Assets of Alfa Asset Management Grow 42% In A Month
The total value of assets managed by Alfa Asset Management grew 42% in a month. The significant increase is attributed to the new service introduced in May – online transfer of stakes, as well as to the overall good performance of the company.
Alfa Asset Management controls two mutual funds – Alfa Index Top 20 (the only index fund in Bulgaria) and Alfa Index Properties (the first branch mutual fund in the country). As of the end of August Alfa Index Top 20 assets exceed 3.1 mln leva (1.585 mln euros), which is a 60% increase in one month, and those of Alfa Index Properties stand at a little over 2 mln leva (1.022 mln euros).
„More and more investors, institutional as well as ndividual, find the passive investment strategy more attractive and decide to work with us. The passive strategy, applied by both funds, is based on the principle that the market is effective enough to be followed without making unnecessary costs and speculations, and can bring an investor maximum return at a minimum risk,“ says Alfa Asset Management portfolio manager Petar Vassilev.
Another reason for the rapid growth in assets is the introduction in May of a new service for Bulgaria – online trade. This service enables investors to purchase stakes in Alfa Index Top 20 and Alfa Index properties without having to visit the company office – a few clicks and an e-pay bank transfer are enough, investing is fast and easy, and safety of investors data is guaranteed.
The good performance of both funds also attracts assets. Alfa Index Top 20 profitability reached 83.3% over the past 1 year, which ranks it among the best mutual funds in the country. The low-risk portfolio Alfa Index Properties achived 26% profitability over the past 12 months.
