International Technical Fair Revenues Up 46%
The 63rd International Technical Fair generated 46% more in earnings than last year's edition. According to preliminary data, revenues stand at the unprecedented 17,400,000 leva (8.896 mln euros). The hike is attributed to higher prices, more participants, and more rented space, the latter two grew 3% and 9%, respectively.
With the growing number of participants and visitors, demand for event-related services also increased. More than 139,000 people visited the Autumn 2007 exposition, 10% of which foreign businessmen. More than 90 events on national and international level took place.
207 firms from Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, and The Netherlands participated in the four cooperation exchanges. “ In the long term perspective we are expecting real deals and positive results from the relations we established,”said Sonya Miklay, organizer of the bourse of the representation stall of Bavaria Province.
Germany was a partner-country to the Germany was Partner Country at the 63rd ITF and the cooperation exchange was initiated by the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Bayern International - the Bavarian Bureau for International Business Relations, as part of the country’s presentation.
Thanks to the participation in the ITF, the worldwide first fully automated translation device with light laser positioning able to translate from 15 foreign languages into Bulgarian will be soon put into production. The device is jointly developed by two Bulgarian companies. The negotiations with companies interested in the production of the device are to be finalized in January and followed by the commercial production of the “electronic translator”.
The productive business contacts and the high quality of the provided services are only some of the reasons why International Fair Plovdiv has been keeping 80% of the companies as regular participants in the exhibition events.
Participants in the ITF 2007 were 3,661 companies from 49 countries. The number of the Bulgarian companies totalled 1,336. The foreign companies were 2,325 (6% up compared to last year), and the total number of exhibitors grew by 3% over AUTUMN 2006. The total exhibition area registered a rise of 9%, while the area occupied by the foreign exhibitors was up by 17%. The occupied total exhibition area amounted to 125,322 sq. m as compared to 115,172 sq.m in 2006).
To respond to the enormous interest declared by the participants in the 63rd ITF, further 15,000 sq. m of exhibition area are be constructed for AUTUMN 2008.
