Moravsko Selo Hotel – An Oasis Between The Mountains of Rila and Pirin

The fact that the summer i. e. the vacation season is over does not have to bring our spirits down, because we can always find a reason to party. I myself am a well-known party lover who hates to stay at home at the weekend. If there is no occasion, I will invent one. There is a reason for celebration in every day and we just have to find it out.
This week, as usual, I am presenting another place where the word boredom has been prohibited by law. The place where I am taking you today is situated between the Mountains of Rila and Pirin in a region called Predela. The hotel is called Moravsko Selo Hotel and is one of those places where you can go both in the summer and in the winter season. With the winter approaching I will be starting to pay more and more attention to the mountain resorts.
The Moravsko Selo Hotel is situated 8 km away from the town of Razlog in the region of Predela, famous for its picturesque scenes.
“Moravsko Selo” means “a village on the lawn”, and the name probably comes from the fact that it comprises four pretty houses amidst the green swards of the Predela – three guest houses, and a tavern and cellar. Each house has a separate yard.
The tavern offers traditional Bulgarian meals and its specialty is pork kapama, which goes perfectly well with a bottle of Bulgarian red wine in my opinion.
The tavern is mostly proud with the fact that it uses its own products for almost everything. They grow their own vegetables, they get the milk from the animals they breed nearby, they make their own cheese and yogurt, they brew their own brandy (the all Bulgarians' favorite “rakiya”), they get eggs from their hens, and of course, they make homemade pastries. Fresh, delicious and healthy.
Just make sure you have enough time to try everything! A variety of sports can be practiced in the area – skiing, snowboarding, rafting, horse riding, kayak, paragliding, mountainbike. Those who love fishing and hunting will also be very pleased, and those of you who prefer less extreme entertainment can join the forest lovers on their long walks around the area gathering mushrooms, herbs, wild strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries.
Actually just walking and enjoying the beauty of Nature is enough – the high peaks, the deep abysses, and the 186 lakes with crystal clear water are something you can't find in the city.
How much would a weekend cost you? Well a night per person costs 30 euros. The hotel has 6 double rooms, 5 suites with king size beds, and 1 suite with two double beds.
So, as I said, you don't need any special reason to indulge yourself in a break away from the city -that's why weekends were invented. And I will be here next weekend again with more suggestions.
