Praktiker Romania SA, a unit of Germany's Praktiker AG, said revenue in 2007 increased 60 percent as the home-improvement retailer opened more stores, Bursa reported.

The company opened four stores, giving it a total of 20 in the country, and revenue climbed to 251 million euros ($372 million), the newspaper said.

Higher wages and increased borrowing have spurred a retail sales boom in Romania in recent years.

Retail sales nationwide were 17.8 percent higher in November than in the year-earlier month, the National Statistics Institute said yesterday.
