SOFIX Loses More Than 20% In The Past Three Months

Indexes have been declining in all sessions since the start of 2008, losing a total of 10% year to date.
After hitting the record 1952 points in October, today SOFIX closed at 1561.34.
SOFIX is the Bulgarian blue chips index. Last autumn BSE introduced amendments to its calculation and structure.
The leading companies in SOFIX registered serious losses in the past three months. The table below contains more detailed information based on average stock prices.
It has to be pointed out that the October 15 figures were not the maximum for all positions.
The only stocks to advance during the period concerned are Petrol Jsc and Elana Agricultural Land Opportunity REIT.
Industrial Holding Bulgaria turns out to be the biggest decliner, shedding 38% (the shares from the capital increase have not yet been floated).
9 other companies in SOFIX dropped between 20 and 30%. Shareholders in Monbat, Sopharma and Bulgarian-American Credit Bank suffered smaller losses.
Among popular stocks not included in SOFIX we may mention Lead and Zinc Complex, which dropped more than 33% of its mar cap over the past three months and Eurohold Bulgaria, which lost nearly 28%.
Among infrastructure companies Holding Patishta fell 6% and Ttrace Group Hold (which was floated December 15) dropped nearly 28%.
