DZI, Armeetz and Viktoria – The Big Winners In November
Insurance and Reinsurance Company DZI, Armeetz and Viktoria are the insurers who expanded their market shares the most in November, statistics provided by the Financial Supervision Commission reveals. Those three companies gained between 0.30 % and 0.24% during the penultimate month of 2007.
Unika added 0.11%, and Bul Ins's market share grew 0.08%.
At the bottom of the chart are Bulstrad and Generali Insurance, which lost 0.48% and 0.30%. The market shares of Allianz Bulgaria and Lev Ins shrunk 0.13% and 0.10%.
Premium income from general insurance stood at 1.07 bln leva (547.082 mln euros) for the Jan – Nov period 2007, and at 203.689 mln leva (104.144 mln euros) in the sector of life insurance. The figures are 21% and 33%, respectively, above last year's, which brings the total hike on the insurance market to 23%, the FSC said.
A stronger competition was observed in the sector of general insurance in November, which caused a decrease in the market shares of the top four companies.
