Bulgaria's banking sector registered a profit of 1.14 billion levs for last year (this is by 41.6% (336 million levs) higher than the profit registered in 2006), according to the unaudited financial statements of the banks received at the central office of the Bulgarian National Bank, Standart reports.

At the end of last December, the assets of Bulgaria's banking sector totaled 59,1 billion levs, which is by sixteen billion levs more than they were in 2006. The amount of non-serviced loans decreased by four million levs over the last trimester.

Thus the share of the classified loans granted to private persons and legal entities reached 4.4 percent of all released loans.
