Bulgarian indexes all closed nearly 2% down from opening today. SOFIX fell 1.94% to 1142.01 points, which is its lowest since end of November 2006. BG40 fell 1.92% to 331.30 points. This is a nine-month low for the broad indicator.

BGTR30 and BGREIT slipped 1.96% and 1.22%, respectively, to 768.28 and 93.20 points.

Companies are getting close to their 52-week lows. Chimimport fell below 8 leva for the first time since January 2007 (the stock lost 2.56% today). Sopharma closed below 6 leva (-1.98%) - the shares of the pharmaceutical company have not been traded below 6 leva since October 2006.

Bank stocks are also seeing losses. Central Cooperative Bank dipped 7.01% to 4.64 leva and First Investment Bank and Corporate Commercial Bank declined by 0.57% abd 0.97% respectively to 6.96 and 81.83 leva apiece.

Trade in Industrial Holding Bulgaria and Elana Agricultural Land Opportunity REIT was also very active – more than 1 million shares changed hands on both positions. The holding added 8.77% to 7.94 leva, and Elana slipped 0.44% to 2.25 leva.

Daily turnover reached 16.012 million leva (8.18 million euros), compared with 11.605 million leva (5.65 million euros) yesterday.
