A relatively boring week on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) came to an end. There were record low daily turnovers recorded over the week. BSE's turnover failed to reach 2 mln leva today.

It seems as if the international news is unable to stir the domestic capital market at this point. The concerns about the slowdown of the economy in the Eurozone and the about a recession in the leading European countries are growing.

Countries that account for half of the world's economy face a recession a year after the credit crisis began, Goldman Sachs analysts said yesterday.

UBS economists this week cut their forecast for global growth in 2009 from 3.1 percent to 2.9%, close to the 2.5% deemed a world recession.

The tension between Russia and the leading NATO countries over the conflict with Georgia should be mentioned as well.

More companies published their consolidated H1 reports this week. All rights in Expat Beta REIT were transferred, while at the same time nearly 10 mln rights in Advance Terrafund REIT changed hands in the period August 18-22. Some of the stocks were traded in big volumes over the week.
