Two Banks Boast Biggest Market Cap on BSE

A year ago a few companies, included in the calculation of the SOFIX blue-chip index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), each had a market capitalization exceeding 1 bln leva. The combined market capitalization of the 20 blue chips stands at 2.48 bln leva at present.
Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) and First Investment Bank (FIBank) top the ranking with 408 mln leva and 304.7 mln leva market value, respectively.
Chimimport ranks third with a market value of 304.5 mln leva, which was even lower until recently.
Only four other companies included in the calculation of SOFIX have a market value exceeding 100 mln leva. These are: Sopharma, Monbat, Bulgarian American Credit Bank and Albena.
Orgachim (33.4 mln leva), Toplivo (31 mln leva) and Euroins (27.5 mln leva) are positioned in the bottom end of the ranking.
The decline in stock prices results in a drop in the value of the free floating shares on BSE. It came to less than 540 mln leva as at November 24, BSE data show.
The value of the bank deposits of pension companies stands at 600 mln leva, data of the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) show.
