First Investment Bank reports an 80% hike in turnover on point-of-sale terminals y/y. The bank reports that more and more clients are preferring to pay by credit card on a POS terminal at the cash register rather than use their debit card at an ATMs to get cash. First Investment Bank controls the third largest POS terminal network in Bulgaria.

FIB provides regular statements to clients with installed POS terminals about the transaction history and company account. The point-of-sale terminals are said to make customer service faster and better.

Installation and training of the personnel is free. FIB also provides 24 hour service. An additional advantage the bank offers to merchants who install the terminals is the opportunity of opening a free bank account with no minimum deposit requirement. The account can be opened at the spot, which means the merchants do not have to go to the bank office themselves.

The POS terminal can be a GSM type or a regular one, that is, they use a different type of communication - GSM/GPRS, LAN/Ethernet.

FIB is currently promoting the service offering record low commissions on transactions. The bank's POS terminals operate with Visa and MasterCard and are the only ones in the country operating with Diners Club cards, which are getting very popular in the country.

Another promotional offer with each POS installation includes the opportunity of using an up to 5,000 leva overdraft and a business card VISA/MasterCard under preferred condition and facilitated approval procedure.
