The Board of Directors of Bulgarian Stock Exchange will meet Wednesday (5 September) to discuss amendments within the list of companies included in the calculation of SOFIX, a posting on BSE's website reveals.

Currently 16 companies are included in the calculation of the index. These are Albena, Bulgarian-American Credit Bank, Biovet, Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, Central Cooperative Bank, Chimimport, Insurance and Reinsurance Company DZI, Elana Agricultural Land Opportunity REIT, Industrial Holding Bulgaria, M+S Hydraulic, Monbat, Neochim, Orgachim, Petrol, Sopharma, and Toplivo.

The last amendment to the list made 26 February 2007, when Blagoevgrad BT, Bulgartabak Holding, Zlatni Piasatsi AD, and Odessos Ship Repair Yard were left out and replaced by CB Bulgarian-American Credit Bank, Toplivo, Industrial Holding Bulgaria AD, Bulgarian Telecommunications Company, and Elana Agricultural Land Opportunity REIT. Monbat was added a bit later.

A source from BSE told profit.bg that currently a total of 22 companies meet the criteria for inclusion in the SOFIX calculation. These are Advance Terrafund REIT, Albena, Doverie United Holding, Eurohold Bulgaria, Emka, Insurance Company Euroins, Kaolin, Kauchuk, Odessos Ship Repair Yard, Moststroy, Lead and Zinc Complex, Bulgaria River Shipping AD, Plovdiv Yuri Gagarin, Polimeri, Oil and Gas Exploration and Production, St. Konstantin and Elena, Synergon Holding, Sparky Eltos, Stara Planina Hold, Fazerles, Hydraulic Elements and Systems, and Holding Patishta.

„The number of companies included in the index's calculation may be increased or reduced, and the decision will be taken Wednesday,“ BSE also announced.

In order to be included in the calculation of the index an emission must have been traded for at least six months prior to its inclusion, its market capitalization must be at least 50 mln leva (25.564 mln euros), the number of shareholders at least 500, and the free-float at least 10%.
