Monbat Aims at Europe’s Top 5
Monbat AD’s strategic aim is to enhance its competitiveness and to be among the top 5 of Europe’s biggest companies in accumulator (battery) business. This was stated in the annual management report submitted to BSE.
In order to achieve this goal the company aims to increase its production growth by 120% till 2009 in comparison to that of 2006, to increase its net revenues by 320% till 2009, as well as to increase its production to a capacity of 2.55 million accumulators per year till 2009, compared to 1.2 million during the past year.
In 2007 Monbat’s sales are expected to rise by 40% to BGN110 million, and the company expects its revenues to reach BGN 15 million.
The main activity of Monbat is the production of lead--acid starter and stationery batteries and their after sales maintenance.
In 2006 the company remains export oriented - 85% of its revenues coming from export of its ready production. Export sales within the European Union represent 64.22% of all export sales in 2006.The majority of the export is to Germany-23.63%,Ukraine -11.06% and The Netherlands -8.50%.
The sales increase is mainly the result of the overall increase in sales on the markets of the countries within the European Union.
