Lead and Zinc Complex Kardjali (

) posted profit in the amount of 14.31 mln leva (7.316 mln euros), or 1.7 leva per share, in the year's first half, which is a 105.6% increase year-on-year (profit stood at 6.97 mln leva, or 3.563 mln euros on 30 June 2006).

Revenues reached 124.543 mln leva (63.677 mln euros), of which net sales revenues stand at 121,690 leva (62,219 euros), and financial revenues at 2,853 leva (1,458 euros). Sales revenues have increased by 93.03%, or 58.649 mln leva (29.986 mln euros) compared with the respective period a year ago, which the company attributes to the rising prices of metals and increased production volume.

In 1H the company has produced by 14.48% or 1,731 tonnes more zinc than last year, and 123.95% more lead. As of June 30, export accounts for 81.75% of net slaes revenues.

Costs stand at 110.232 mln leva (56.360 mln euros), of which 105.497 mln leva (53.940 mln euros) are costs in core activity, and 4.735 mln leva (2.420 mln euros) are financial. Core activity costs have rose by 50.699 mln leva (25.921 mln euros), compared with the respective period in 2006, which is mainly due to the increased volume of production i. e. materials used.

The average price of metals in London over the period were as follows: zinc - 3559.75 $/ton, and lead – 1981.22 $/ton. The price of zinc has grown 792.62$/ton over the past 12 months, and of lead rose 810.12$/ton.

Lead and Zinc Complex has a core capital in the amount of 8 413 360 leva (4 301 682 euros), and its equity capital stands at 68.027 mln leva (34.781 mln euros). The company is controlled by Intertrust EAD.

Lead and Zinc's core cativity is production and trade with non-ferrous metals: lead, zinc sulphate, zinc alloys, cadmium, bismuth, sodium bisulphite, lead-antimony alloys, selenium and calcium alloys for storage battery industry and others.

The company's shares are currently traded 2.75% up on the BSE to an average of 69.76 leva.
