Today we saw how financial reports can have a positive impact on trade, bringing a breath of fresh air to investors.

By midday it looked as of we were about to witness another slide for stocks.

This changed the moment some large Bulgarian public companies started announcing H1 reports.

Indexes plunged on negative territory in the very first minutes of trade. Towards the middle of the session, SOFIX and BG40 had both lost nearly 4% and the blue chips indicator was getting away from the 1,000 benchmark level.

Then, M+S Hydraulic, Neochim, Orgachim, and HES posted their reports almost simultaneously, and Doverie United Holding and Industrial Holding Bulgaria filed non-consolidated reports. Even though some of those companies closed on the red, most shares managed to rebound by the end of the session.

M+S Hydraulic's H1 profit is at 3.49 mln leva (1.7 mln euros) in H1, compared with 2.94 mln leva (1.5 mln euros), which is a hike of 18.3% y/y. 1,524 shares traded hands during the day at an average of 6.9 leva, or 1.43% down from opening. Shares were down 2.9% in the very first hours of trade.

The biggest surprise came from the chemical plant Neochim. H1 pre-tax profit mounts to 39.038 mln leva (19.9 mln euros), which translates into 14.92 leva/share. A year earlier profit was at 8.9 mln leva.

Net sales revenues are up 40.27% to 180.5 mln leva (92.2 mln euros). Production sales in the country stand at 82.7 mln leva and abroad at 95.3 mln leva.

This boosted the stock price some 11.95% to 73.89 leva. The good report also had an impact on the traded volume – 2,084 shares changed hands at an average of 72.79 leva. The stock was up all day.

Despite weaker profit figures, Orgachim reports a significant hike in sales revenues, from 56 mln to 67.35 mln leva (+20%).

This prompted the stock price, which was down to below 200 leva earlier today with some transactions at 190 leva, or a -7% on the position. Later on the stock rebound to some extent and closed at -0.15% at a turnover of 280 shares. The average price stayed below 200 leva, at 198.79 leva.

Hydraulic Elements and Systems announced net profit of 2.5 mln leva in H1, or 0.83 leva/share, compared with 1.8 mln leva a year ago. Just 5 shares changed hands today and the price stayed unchanged, at 19.89 leva.

Doverie United Holding surprised investors with the dividend received from subsidiaries and affiliated companies. Non-consolidated profit is at 5.35 mln leva (in H1, versus 393,000 leva a year ago.

After some fluctuation on the position, the stock added 0.94% to 5.25 leva. The average price reached 5.2 leva at a turnover of 6,924 shares.

Industrial Holding Bulgaria also posted a favorable non-consolidated report. After a minor decline on the position in the morning, shares started to go up after the release of the report. The hike soon slowed down and the stock closed just 0.95% up from opening. The average price settled at 5.93 leva (at a turnover of 43,593 shares.

Today's trade session was as a whole negative. SOFIX lost 1.2% to 1006.51 points. BG40 fell 1.48% to 256 points. BGTR30 and BGREIT declined 1.12% and 0.91% to 667.59 points and 88.84 points.

Total turnover was relatively high, compared with recent sessions, at 5.48 mln leva (2.8 mln euros). 26 out of 121 active positions advanced.
