SOFIX Almost Slips Below 1,000 Points

July's last trading session turned out very interesting. For the second time this week SOFIX almost slipped below the 1,000 mark. The index plunged to 976.11 points during trade but managed to close at 1014.33, which is 0.87% down from opening. Active buying on certain positions in the final minutes of trade prevented the slide.
The index is down 10.13% on a monthly basis.
BG40 dropped 1.67% today to 253 points. The indicator has lost 15.55% in July. BGREIT closed at 88.39 or 0.39% down from opening. The indicator end the month -7.68%.
BGTR30 slipped 1.77% to 665.47 points today and a total of 12.56% in July.
BSE's daily turnover was relatively high – at 5.13 mln leva (2.62 mln euros). The value of block and other agreed transactions came to 391,000 leva.
Investors were actively buying Sopharma in the last minutes of trade, in spite of an unconvincing H1 report posted by the pharmaceutical company. Shares added 2.05% today at a turnover of 61,700 at an average price of 4.82 leva.
The same happened with Odessos Ship Repair Yard. The price of the last transaction was 2.16% higher than the opening price and the average settled at 237.73 leva after 3,172 shares traded hands today.
The news on the management changes in Orgachim had a negative effect on the stock price. Shares fell 9.18%. Some transactions were made at prices below 170 leva, while the stock had opened at 193.8 leva. The average fro the day stood at 176 leva.
33.097 shares in Monbat traded hands at an average of 10.48 leva today. The price of the last transaction was 1.32% higher from opening.
Trade on the position of Albena picked up pace after 13.00h. 4,460 shares changed hands at an average of 57.99 leva, adding 11.26% for the day. The company posted H1 profit in the amount of 19.1 mln leva (9.76 mln euros), against 15.48 mln leva (7.9 mln euros) a year ago, which is a hike of 23.4% y/y.
BACB was also actively traded in the final minutes. 7,006 shares changed hands today at an average of 60.2 leva. The stock added 1.41%. The Financial Supervision Commission okayed today the deal for the acquisition of 49.99% the bank's capital by Allied Irish Banks Public Limited Company (AIB).
CCB stayed below 4 leva. The stock lost 8.86% today to 3.69 leva at a turnover of 28,458 shares. Yesterday the banks announced weak H1 results and blamed it on losses from operations with financial instruments in the amount of 4.59 mln leva, while last year the bank had a 6.3 mln leva profit from that activity.
