A total of 232,000 deals in securities were sealed through the COBOS trading platform in the period January 1 to August 20, 2008. The number of transactions sealed at broker terminals amounted to 276,000, data of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) show.

The number of orders placed via the COBOS platform totaled 837,000 in the period, while the number of those placed at broker terminals exceeded 1.07 million.

The daily number of orders submitted through the COBOS platform in the period stood at 5,230, while the number of orders placed at terminals totaled 6,733. The number of the deals sealed daily stood at 1,452 and 1,725, respectively.

The most active trading days were recorded on January 16 and 22 when a total of 25,000 orders were placed through the COBOS and brokers terminals, while the number of transactions came to 9700 and 9200, respectively.

The number of deals sealed daily through the COBOS exceeded 1,000 in 118 of the 160 trading sessions in the period through August 20. The number of sessions with daily transactions exceeding 1,000 stood at 132, accounting for 82.5% of the total.

The least number of transactions (515) via the COBOS was recorded on July 25. The number of deals were also record low on August 18 and 20 at 550 and 551, respectively. The total number of the transactions completed on August 8 stood at 585.

The average number of the deals sealed daily through the COBOS platform stood at 1,559.17 in 2007 and 567.93 in 2006.

A total of 5,696 people invested through the platform as at the of July 2008, compared to 5,721 a month earlier. The number of COBOS clients has gone up by 554 since the beginning of 2008.
