A 35-Mln-Euro Yacht Port To Be Built in Nessebar

A yacht port worth 35 mln euros is to be built in Nessebar in October.
The project is financed by Hypo Alpe Adria Leasing. The initial plans were to build a port with a capacity of 350 boats. According to the latest data, 50% of the port will be used for yachts up to 17 meters long, 20% for boats up to 25 meters long and the rest for larger vessels (up to 50 meters in length)
In June the leasing company said that at least 10 yacht ports will be built in Bulgaria in the near future. Negotiations are on their way for 7 such projects, Hypo Alpe executive director Horst Ebhart says.
Between five and ten operating ports in Bulgaria are currently equipped to serve yachts. Such operate in St Vlas, Sozopol, Nessebar, Balchik, Golden Sands. Sunny Beach got one this year.
There are plans to build marinas in Ravda, Nessebar, Sozopol, Tsarevo, Ahtopol, as well as to expand existing ports.
Investors are unanimous that Bulgaria needs more yacht ports to boost tourism.
