SOFIX Posts Second Biggest Weekly Loss To Date

The SOFIX blue-chip index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) posted its second biggest weekly decline over the past five trading sessions. The index broke the 400-point mark today, slipping бъ 3.87% to 391.47 points, which represents a 16.32-percent weekly drop. The index was trading 1% higher in the early session today.
The BG40 index of the most traded stocks slipped by 0.31% today ending the session at 117.41 points. The BGTR30 index skidded 3.96% lower to 301.76 points. The BG REIT index was the only one to end today's session higher. The index advanced by 0.4%, to 52.45 points.
The BG40 lost 17.76% for the week, while the BG REIT shed 1.87% over the last five sessions. The BG TR30 dropped by 14.93 on a weekly basis.
The SOFIX has lost 18.87% of its value since the beginning of the month, while the BG40 has dropped by 15.37%. BG REIT and BG TR30 are down 3.81% and 14.9%, respectively.
BSE's overall turnover came to 1.53 mln leva today, while the value of the over-the-counter deals amounted to 1.03 mln leva. A total of 97 issues were traded on the day, while the number of advancers stood at 35.
Three of the companies included in the calculation of the BG40 posted weekly average stock price gains. Doverie United Holding advanced by 8.33% to an average of 7.93 leva per share.
Petrol average stock prices went 1.11% up to 9.08 leva per share, while Sopharma gained 0.47% to an average of 2.12 leva per share.
Neochim's stock depreciated by 42.29% over the last five days to an average price of 37.52 leva per share. Neochim's production has been shut for maintenance for the past month. The company announced yesterday it would resume product at a later stage, depending on the international and domestic market conditions.
Lead & Zinc stock depreciated by 30.78% to an average of 7.87 leva per share. Industrial Capital Holding plunged by 24.06% to an average of 2.43 leva per share.
