Minimum Pension Increased up to 124 Leva

From January 1, the minimum pension will be increased to 124 leva from 113 leva under amendments to the State Public Social Insurance Budget Act effective as of January 1, 2009.
Under the amendments, passed by the National Assembly on December 12, the minimum daily compensation for unemployment will be 6 leva and the maximum - 12 leva.
Mothers with 12-month contributable service are entitled to maternity benefits of the equivalence of 90 per cent of their wage for one year.
Between the child's age of one and two, mothers will be entitled to a benefit that is equal to the nation's minimum monthly wage, or 240 leva from January 2009.
The minimum monthly size of the contributory income for self-employed is set at 260 leva and its maximum size - at 2,000 leva.
