"I expect today's trade on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) to resemble yesterday's lackluster start of the year," Plamen Yordanov, investment consultant at Somoni Financial Brokerage told Profit.bg.
Most market players have taken the wait-and-see approach, which is the main reason for the low trading volumes. According to Yordanov. The demand for compensatory instruments will likely be strong today.
"We will hardly see and steep changes in the value of the indexes, which will most likely decline due to the poor performance of the US market yesterday, Yordanov added.
BSE's indexes ended yesterday's session mixed. The SOFIX blue-chip index advanced by 0.26%, to 359.58 points, while the broader BG40 added 0.32%, to 108.16 points. BG REIT shed 3.34%, to 46.91 points.
BSE's overall turnover came to 354,560 leva yesterday. The Unofficial bond market accounted for 163,410 of the figure. A total of 70 issues were traded on the day with 29 of the companies posting stock price gains.
