Twenty MPs, three deputy government ministers, a former minister and 41 judges have misdeclared their property status, according to the National Audit Office (NAO), BTA reported.

The results of a NAO check of the property declarations of senior civil servants were reported Friday by NAO President Valeri Dimitrov.

Fewer civil servants misdeclared their property last year compared to the years before, Dimitrov said. The total number is 174 for 2008 against 195 in 2007, while the number of people required to submit property declarations has increased to a total of 10.500.

Awareness for the applicable law remains poor and some fill out their property declarations with clear negligence, Dimitrov commented.
