Early Optimism on BSE Fizzles Out Towards End of Session

The turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) remained low at 1.58 mln leva at the end of today's session. The bond market accounted for 634 000 leva of the figure, while the value of the over-the-counter deals exceeded 554,000 leva as at 2:50 p.m.
A total of 81 issues were traded on the day with 21 of the companies posting stock price gains.
The optimism in today's early session did not continue until the end of the day. It looked like the gas crises has come to an end after Russia resumed gas supplies to Ukraine this morning. In the afternoon, however, there was still no transit through the territory of Ukraine.
SOFIX, BG40 and BG TR30 posted gains in the early session, while BGREIT's value remained unchanged. Nevertheless, all four indexes ended today's session with declines of more than 1%. SOFIX slipped by 1.04%, to 346.87 points, while BG40 skidded 1.12%, to 105.91 points.
BGREIT shed 1.39% on the day, to 47.47 points, while BGTR30 declined by 1.78%, to 259.25 points.
Synergon Holding, which the biggest advancer on segment A of BSE's Official market, was today's biggest decliner. The stock of the company depreciated by 12.28%, to 1.84 leva per share. The turnover on the position came to 164,743 shares, 140,000 of which changes hands in two deals.
The turnover on the position of Industrial Holding Bulgaria stood at 34,662 shares with 24,495 of the shares transferred in a single deal. The stock of the company lost 4.83% of its value, closing the day at 1.38 leva per share.
Albena Invest Holding's stock appreciated by nearly 6%, to 3.9 leva per share. The turnover on the position, however, came to a mere 507 shares.
Bulgarian River Shipping, which was the most declining company on BSE's Official market yesterday, was the biggest advancer today. The stock of the company advanced by 19%, to 2.5 leva per share. Stara Planina Hold was also among today's decliners after the market value of the company dropped by 5.88%, to 1.6 leva per share.
Other losers today included Sparky Eltos (-4.89%, to 1.75 leva), Enemona (-6.59%, to 7.78 leva), Hydraulic Elements and Systems (-8.23%, to 3.57 leva) and Holding Varna (-3.56%, to 13.50 leva)
Banking stocks traded mixed today. Central Cooperive Bank (-3.77%, to 1.02 leva) and First Investment Bank (-0.17%, to 2.28 leva) ended the day with declines, while the shares of Bulgarian-American Credit Bank appreciated by 2.61%, 11.95 leva apiece. The stock price of Corporate Commercial Bank remained unchanged at 71 leva per share.
As regards to infrastructure companies Trace Group Hold declined by 2.70%, to 3.6 leva per share, while Holding Roads shed 2.13%, to 2.80 leva per share. Moststroy was the only advancing infrastructure company. Its shares appreciated by 0.32%, to 3.15 leva per share.
