The major indexes of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) got off to a positive start today, but the optimism fizzled out towards the end of the day.

The SOFIX blue-chip index slipped by 0.12%, to 291.35 points, after being up 1.62% earlier in the day. The broader BG40 advanced by more than 2% in the early session but closed the 0.65% down at 94.06 points.

BGREIT was the only gaining on the day advancing by 0.44%, to 43.30 points. BGTR30 in turn skidded 1.76% lower, to 211.75 points.

BSE's overall turnover came to 6.89 mln leva, while the value of the over-the-counter deals exceeded 2.17 mln. leva as at 2:45 p.m.

A total of 80 issues were traded on the day with 26 of the companies posting stock price gains.

There were no advancers on segment A of BSE's Official market today. The biggest advancers were Stara Planina Hold and Albena Invest Holding, whose shares depreciated by 7.42% and 7.03%, to 1.11 and 3.25 leva per share, respectively.

The two companies were also the biggest decliners on the Official market. Other losers today included Synergon Holding (-5.71%, to 1.49 leva), Bulgarska-Roza Sevtopolis (-4.61%, to 0.56 leva) and Oil & Gas Exploration & Production (-4.65%, to 2.85 leva).

Bulgarian-American Credit Bank was the only decliner among banks on the day. The stock of the lender depreciated by 8.99%, to 8.5 leva per share.

Central Cooperative Bank's stock price ended the day 2.87% up at 0.90 leva per share, while First Investment Bank's shares added 0.89% to their value, closing at 1.13 leva per share. Corporate Commercial Bank's stock price remained unchanged at 70 leva per share.

Neochim posted a 6.86-percent gain, to 31 leva per share. Chimimport's stock depreciated by 1.24%, to 1.44 leva per share. The traded volume on the position came to 76,665 shares.

Infrastructure companies ended today's session in negative territory. Holding Roads shed 3.31%, to 2.1 leva per share, Trace Group Hold lost 0.16%, to 29.65 leva and Moststroy slumped by 8.28%, to 2.16 leva.
