SOFIX Advances, BG40 Hits New All-Time Low

Following yesterday's debacle of the U.S. Stock indexes, which lost over 4% of their value each, SOFIX was the only index on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) to post a gain today.
The blue-chip index ended its four day losing streak advancing by 0.25%, to 264.51 points.
The broader BG40 index slipped by 0.80%, to another all-time low of 87.69 points. BGREIT and BGTR30 declined by 0.82% and 0.74%, to 39.77 and 188.07 points, respectively.
BSE's overall turnover amounted to 748 654 leva on the day. The value of the over-the-counter deals exceeded 262,000 leva as at 2:40 p.m. BSE's market capitalization amounts to 9.95 bln leva.
A total of 94 issues were traded on the day, with 23 of the companies posting stock price gains.
Stara Planina Hold's stock depreciated by 11.33%, to 1.14 leva today, while the traded volume on the position came to only 300 shares. The company was also today's biggest decliner on BSE's Official market.
Albena Invest Holding's stock price went up by 2.97%, to 3.40 leva per share, while Synergon Holding's stock shed 2.59%, to 1.35 leva per share.
Orgachim was also among today's decliners after the stock of the company depreciated by 5.34%, to 62.00 leva per share.
A total of 52 857 shares in Chimimport changed hands on the day. The stock shed 1.15% of their value, to 1.20 leva.
The banking stocks ended today's session mixed. Central Cooperative Bank advanced by 2.53%, to 0.81 leva per share, while Corporate Commercial Bank added 0.66% to 76.00 leva per share.
First Investment Bank skidded 0.53% lower, to 1.13 leva per share, while the stock price of Bulgarian-American Credit Group remained unchanged at 8.00 leva per share.
Zarneni Hrani Bulgaria's market capitalization declined by 5.41%, to 0.49 leva per share today, after 38,832 shares in the company were transferred. Kaolin rose by 5.86%, to 2.35 leva. The turnover on the position came to 23,713 shares.
Infrastructure companies ended today's session mixed. Moststroy's stock appreciated by 0.31%, to 1.60 leva, while Traca Group Hold and Holding Roads lost 2.08% and 0.92%, to 23.50 leva and 1.61 leva, respectively. The turnover on the position of Holding Roads exceeded 20 000 shares.
