The opposition submitted the seventh motion for a no-confidence vote in the Cabinet to the National Assembly. The motion is backed by 73 MPs. Its motives involve "failure of the overall governing policy of the ruling three-party coalition".

Under Parliament's Rules of Procedure the discussions of the motion could not begin earlier than three days and later than seven days after it is submitted.

According to the opposition, the incumbents have distanced Bulgaria from EU and NATO. Rather than achieving economic prosperity, the Government has plunged the country into an energy, financial and economic crisis. The opposition cites "the oligarchical model of governance" as another motive behind the motion.

Vanyo Sharkov of the United Democratic Forces (UtdDF) commented that the Cabinet has failed to cope with its tasks and urged the National Movement for Surge and Stability (NMSS) to withdraw from the coalition (Bulgarian Socialist Party - NMSS - Movement for Rights and Freedoms).

NMSS Spokesman Stanimir Ilchev said in Parliament's lobbies, however, that his party does not wish to provoke "in an irresponsible manner" the country's destabilization in the eve of elections. However, NMSS does not tie up its support for the Cabinet with yielding from its position of holding the lections for the European Parliament and for MPs simultaneously.

Coalition for Bulgaria MP Angel Naidenov said the motives reveal inadequacy describing them as"sincerely inconsistent". In his view it is strange that the opposition moves a no-confidence vote less than four months before the elections. He expects that it would fail. It is namely the elections that would show the citizens' attitude to the incumbents and the opposition.

Lyutvi Mestan of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms said the Movement has no doubts regarding the choice of the MPs of BSP and NMSS at the vote.
