The SOFIX blue-chip index of the Bulgaran Stock Exchange (BSE) shed 1.41% of its value today, closing at 379.34 points. The broader BG40 slipped by 0.90%, to 104.54 points. BGTR30 ended the day 0.88% lower at 281.81 points. BGREIT was the only advancer on the day, closing 0.55% up at 40.02 points.

BSE's overall turnover came to 1.29 mln leva, while the value of the over-the-counter deals totaled 2.57 mln leva as at 2:05 p.m. A total of 81 issues were traded on the day with 25 of the stock posting price gains.

Albena and Alcomet were among today's advancers. Albena's stock appreciated by 0.65%, to 29.50 leva per share, while Alcomet gained 0.60%, to 1.86 leva per share.

Euroins also ended the day higher. The stock of the insurance company added 2.81% to its value closing at 1.61 leva per share. A total of 1,495 of Euroins' shares traded hands on the day.

Herti's stock price went up by 13.49%, to 2.23 leva per share. The traded volume on the position came to 1,211 shares on the day.

A total of 131,802 shares in Chimimport changed hands on the day. The depreciated by 2.78%, to 2.27 leva per share.

Monbat ended the day 2.89% lower at 4.70 leva per share. A total of 23,567 shares in the company were traded today. The management of the starter battery maker revised down its forecasts for 2009.

Most of the banking stocks posted price declines on the day in thin volume trade. These included Central Cooperative Bank (-1.75%, to 1.46 leva), FIBank (-1.96%, to 2.50 leva per share) and Bulgarian-American Credit Bank (-0.73%, to 13.50 leva). Corporate Commercial Bank's stock appreciated by 0.32%, to 62.25 leva per share after only 53 shares traded.
