Health Ministry Reports Second Case of Swine Flu

The Health Ministry reported Friday the second case of swine flu in Bulgaria. The diagnose has been confirmed by the national reference laboratory for influenza.
The patient is a child from the southwestern Blagoevgrad region, who returned from the United States on May 29. The first flu symptoms showed on May 30. The child has a mild form of flu, with running nose and cough but no fever or other serious symptoms.
The patient is believed to have been in contact with six other persons and all of them will be tested for the type A (N1H1) virus.
The World Health Organization and the European Disease Control Centre have been notified.
