Wholesale prices of staple foods increased slightly in the week ending on July 12, the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets said.

The index of wholesale prices increased from 1,599 points in the preceding week to 1,615 points in the week ending on July 12.

The price of apples increased 7.2 per cent to 1.63 leva per kilo. The price of apricots decreased 1.3 per cent to 1.51 per cent.

Greenhouse tomatoes gained 20.8 per cent and are currently sold at 1.28 leva/kilo. Greenhouse cucumbers lost 4.3 per cent to 0.90 leva/kilo. Potatoes appreciated by 9.6 per cent to 0.80 leva/kilo. Green peppers lost 8 per cent and sold at 1.62 leva/kilo. Cabbage decreased 2.4 per cent to 0.40 leva/kilo.

Frozen poultry traded at 3.51 leva/kilo. Linked sausages gained 0.2 per cent and traded at 4.84 leva/kilo. Sugar lost 0.02 leva and traded at 1.39 leva/kilo. Flour grade 500 increased 3 per cent to 0.70 leva/kilo. Eggs appreciated by 0.01 leva to 0.16 leva per piece. Rice increased by 3 per cent to 2.24 leva/kilo.

The price of cooking oil increased by 0.03 leva to 1.90 leva/litre. Cow's cheese appreciated by about 1 per cent to 3.53 leva/kilo.
