Grand Hotel Pomorie and the Varna-based chain of restaurants Happy won two Balkan awards at the 47th congress of the International Hotel & Restaurant Association (IH&RA) in the Belgrade Continental on Wednesday night.

Veliko Turnovo was designated Balkan Capital of Cultural Tourism 2010.

Pomorie Grand Hotel was named Best Hotel in the Balkans and Happy was awarded for contribution to the development of the restaurant business in Bulgaria.

At the same ceremony, Grand Hotel Velingrad in the mountain town of Velingrad and Hotel Dimyat of Varna, on the Black Sea, won the awards of the Balkan Hotel and Restaurant Association.
