The SOFIX blue-chip index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) posted its fourth straight decline on Thursday, while the broader BG40 slipped in third consecutive session.

The blue-chip index shed 1.25% to 469.55 points, while BG40 lost 1.22 to 127.74 points.

A total of 83 issues were traded on the day, compared to 60 in the previous session. A total of 18 of the companies posted stock price gains on the day.

Decliners today included Central Cooperative Bank and First Investment Bank which shed 2.77 and 1.23%, to 1.51 and 2.88 leva per share, respectively.

Chimimport slipped by 0.77 to 2.56 leva per share, while Holding Roads and Stara Planina Hold lost 2.85 and 2.60% to 3.17 and 1.87 leva per share.

Billboard's stock price continues to slide. A total of 15,500 shares in the company traded hands on the day at prices between 1.25 and 1.31 leva, or 3.53% less than yesterday.

Industrial Holding Bulgaria (+0.96%, to 2.10 leva) and Etropal (+3.38%, to 2.24 leva) were among the few advancers on the day.

BSE's overall turnover came to 1.22 mln leva. The value of the over-the-counter trades accounted for 180,000 leva of the total.
