BSE's turnover in the year's first half stood at 2.72 bln leva (1.390 bln euros), which is an 86.45% increase compared with the respective period a year ago, the bourse's 1H report reveals.

Gross profit surged 103% year-on-year to 2.134 mln leva (1.091 mln euros). BSE's 1H profit is also 8% above the 1.97 mln leva (1.007 mln euros) posted for the entire 2006.

The May turnover (668.47 mln leva/341.783 mln euros) was the second best in the history of BSE after the 705.16 mln leva (360.542 mln euros) in December 2006. February'07 and January'07 are the third and fourth highest ever turnovers respectively.

The number of transactions in this year's 1H more than doubled compared to a year ago – 195,367 against 95,391.

The average daily turnover stands at 21.78 mln leva (11.136 mln euros) in the period which consists of 125 bourse sessions, compared with an average of 11.59 mln leva (5.925 mln euros) for the 126 sessions in 2006 1H.

On 30 June 2007 the number of emissions traded on the BSE stood at 483, yhis is by 51 more than in 30 June 2006.

38 new emissions have been floated during the period, including 4 IPOs, 6 SPOs, 11 Real Estate Investment Trusts, 3 mutual funds and 14 emissions of bonds. The total face value of new emissions stood at 506 mln leva, which is by 200% more than in the first half last year.

This growth is mainly due to emissions of other public companies, the top 5 among which were those of First Investment Bank AD, Corporate Commercial Bank AD, Eurohold Bulgaria AD, Kaolin AD and Monbat AD.

A face value increase was also registered with the delisted emissions – from 53.42 mln leva (27.313 mln euros) to 104.30 mln leva (53.327 mln euros). The biggest of these is the emission of DZI Bank, which was delisted in April 2007.

As of the end of June 2007, BSE's market capitalization stands at 20.78 bln leva (10.624 bln euros), or 109% up from end of June 2006.

BSE's basic indicator Market Capitalization/GDP also gained significantly. The proportion reached 39.75% at the end of June against 20.20% year ago.

As of June 30, the free-float of the emissions traded on the bourse stands at 25.15% (not counting investment companies).
