I hope that the cigarette making plants in Plovdiv and Slanste Tabac of Stara Zagora will be listed for sale on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange by the end of June 2008, economy and energy minister Petar Dimitrov, said today.

There will be no need for another political decision after the one taken by the ruling tripartite coalition over the weekend, according to Dimitrov. The plants will be privatized through the BSE, Dimitrov was adamant. I hope that will be able to find a buyer soon, Dimitrov added.

There is both domestic and foreign investor interest in the two plants. Large-scale Turkish companies are currently examining the plants in Plovdiv and Stara Zagora, BGNES reported.

No deals were sealed on the positions of Cigarette Factory Plovdiv and Slantse Stara Zagora Tabac today. The stock price of the Plovdiv-based company stands at 11.50 leva per share, while the Slantse Tabac's stock price amounts to 7.31 leva per share.
