British development and investment group Letterstone informed that it is investing around Sk2 billion (€61 million) in a project to construct a multi-purpose residential zone in Kosice called Central Park, Sktoday.com reports.

Entering the Slovak marketplace, the company took into account the country's favorable economic development and socio-economic conditions. "We deem Slovakia to be country with great potential in terms of tax and the business environment," said Letterstone Slovakia investment manager Edward Stevenson.

Kosice region has great potential, while growing investment activities coupled with rising living standards provide the pre-conditions for increasing growth in demand for housing along with a wide range of services, said Stevenson. He praised the co-operative attitude of the Kosice local government, adding that the company has already negotiated 18 months of the most difficult stage of the project preparations, including the environmental impact study.

The project, which will create 100 services jobs, will also include office and business space, a leisure center, and 600 parking places.

Letterstone Slovakia is also working on modern leisure and housing complexes in Tatranska Lomnica (the High Tatras) and Banska Bystrica.
