The Romanian mobile telephone market is to exceed 300 million euros this year, with the main retailers estimating to sell 4 million terminals, and with the average price paid for a mobile phone in Romania having stood at 75 euros January though July 2007, reported ACT Media News Agency.

The average sale price of a mobile phone did not drop below 240 lei, with the highest average price for mobile phones having been recorded in January (274 lei, that is 81.2 euros), and with the lowest having been recorded in July (243 lei, that is 72 euros), according to a study conducted by the GfK research company, quoted by Proton Technologies, a retailer and distributor of mobile phones and GSM accessories, with business estimated to reach 49 million euros.
