More than 6,500 million euro will be the European resource channelled to Bulgaria for the development of agriculture in the 2007-2013 period, State Fund Agriculture Executive Director Dimiter Tadarukov said Tuesday. He was speaking at the opening of the 15th International Specialized Exhibition Agriculture and Everything for It in Dobrich (Northeastern Bulgaria).

A total of 3,200 million euro of the funds will be invested under the programme for development of agriculture and rural regions, while the rest will be used for direct payments and market support of agricultural producers.

September will see the launch of a large-scale information campaign on how these funds could be absorbed most effectively and State Fund Agriculture will organize seminars for the training of agricultural producers, Tadarukov added.

Dobrich Mayor Vesselina Nikolova and the Deputy Chairman of the parliamentary Agriculture and Forestry Committee Ventsislav Vurbanov cut the ribbon of the venue.

More than 380 companies from 30 countries are exhibiting the latest in agricultural machines, equipment for stock breeding and the food processing industry, seeds and seedlings, fertilizers and plant protection.
