The number of unemployed people declined by 4,000 in March, according to Employmen Agency statistics made public by the Labour Ministry Thursday.

This has been the first time in the past one-and-a-half years that their number is dropping.

The unemployment rate was 10.14 per cent. Over 375,000 jobless were registered with the job centres in March.

The decline in the number of jobless people was most significant in Varna Region on the Black Sea (by over 1,500) and least significant in the southern Haskovo Region (by 280).

The number has stayed unchanged in Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria. The only growth is reported in Bourgas Region, on the Black Sea (by over 600 people).
