The Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) granted Vivatria – Greece a permission to acquire 99.994% of the shares of United Milk Company AD -Plovdiv, the leading milk processor in Bulgaria who owns the trade marks Vereia, Fibela, Vitalact and others.

Vivatria is the new name of Delta Holding AD, the second biggest company in the food and beverage sector in Greece.

The CPC found that the market share of United Milk Company is far from a leading position on the market. The only exception is the market of cartoned milk. However, the commission found that free competition and opportunities for new producers to enter the market are present in the field.

According to the commission's anlysis the deal will not lead to an increase in the market presence of the two companies and is not likely to have a negative impact on the sector.

Serious investment in United Milk Company is planned, which means that an improvement of quality and launchimg of new products may be expected.
