The majority of Profit.bg readers who took our online survey “How long do you think the correction on BSE will last?” said it would continue until companies release their financial reports. This answer is given by 37% of respondents.

As you know, according to the law, reports must be submitted no later than January 31. This means there are just two days left in which many companies have to fit in.

29.2% (111 people) expect the negative trend to continue for another month or two (i e till March).

19.5% think what we are currently seeing is not a correction but the initiation of a new trend, and 12.11% expects it to be sustained until the summer. Just 3% (9 people) say the correction will continue throughout the year.

As a whole, the majority of people expect the correction to extend beyond January – 44% (summing up the answers “for another month or two”, “until the summer” and “all year round”).
The correction started somewhere around the end of October. Since then SOFIX has lost more than 30%, or a little over 588 points, from 1943.08 to 1354.75 yesterday. As a result, the blue chip index returned to January 2007 levels.

BG40 fell more than 35% (213 points). At the end of October the broad indicator stood at 616.58 points, while yesterday it closed at 403.34 points. BGTR30 and BGREIT stayed below their base levels for quite some time. On Tuesday BSE newest indicators dipped to 881.21 and 98.28 points, respectively.
