Chimimport is BSE's Most Liquid Company In January, Holding Patishta Also in Top 5

Varna-based economic group Chimimport regained its position as BSE's most liquid stock in January. With 4,242 transactions it leads BSE's chart of most liquid companies. A total of 3.403 mln shares changed hands on the position last month with turnover reaching 46.839 mln leva (23.948 mln euros), according to BSE's statistics.
Chimimport last topped the chart in September when there were 2,184 transactions with the srock.
The company has been second in the list since October . In December 1.120 mln shares changed hands in 2,585 deals worth 17.396 mln leva (8.894 mln euros). A month earlier the number of transactions stood at 3,835, the volume reached 1.411 mln shares, and turnover came to 21.531 mln leva (11.008 mln euros), while in October there were 3,347 deals involving 1.852 shares and turnover at 28.450 mln leva (14.546 mln euros).
The stock price changed from 15.1 to 10.54 leva between January 2 – 31. In other words the stock declined 30%.
December's leader Trace Group Hold ranks second in January. We have to note that secondary trade with the stock started December 15. Last month a total of 36,444 shares of the road construction company changed hands in 3,236 transaction worth 7.795 mln leva (3.985 mln euros). The December statistics records 3,632 deals, 1,120 shares and 14.828 mln leva (7.581 mln euros) in turnover.
The company lost 33% of its market value, with the stock dropping from 278.99 to 171.96 leva/share.
Monbat comes next with 3,160 transactions in January. A total of 674,496 shares changed hands during the period, with monthly turnover at 17.475 mln leva (8.934 mln euros). In December 2007 Monbat ranked fifth. The stock price lost 9.6% from 30.57 to 27.64 leva.
Eurohold Bulgaria and Holding Patishta ranked fourth and fifth, both with less than 3,000 transactions. Here is the full statistics: Eurohold Bulgaria – 2,995 transactions, 1.02 mln transacted shares, 6.478 mln leva (3.312 mln euros).
The split performed by Holding Patishta was obviously a good move for the infrastructure company, which ranked fifth with 2,796 transactions, 11,592 shares and 14.611 mln leva (7.47 mln euros) in turnover.
Eurohold Bulgaria shares fell from 6.74 to 5.36 leva. Holding Patishta dropped from 1445.09 to 1173.83 leva.
