A 25% Hike in Home Prices Expected In Sofia This Year

The high demand for newly built homes in Sofia may lead to a price hike of around 25% this year, according to analysts from Property Secrets.
Moreover, the population of the capital city (currently at around 1.2 million people) is growing each month with more and more people coming from the small towns in search of a better job and better life standards.
The average salary in Sofia is 2.5 times higher than in the rest of the country, statistics shows.
Sofia's chief architect Petar Dikov said the mass construction in the city, which is in disregard to any urban plans, will hurt Sofia's image and make it an uglier place.
If no urgent measures are taken, Sofia (as well as all larger cities in Bulgaria) will be left with no parks and greenery at all.
