A Greek prosecutor filed criminal charges against the top executives of retailer Germanos and OTE's mobile arm Cosmote, on the EUR 1.6 billion deal between the two companies, Reporter.gr said.

Five criminal charges have been laid over the buyout by the prosecutor Ms Eleni Raikou, which caused damages of EUR 80 million to OTE.

Charges of breach of trust have been laid against OTE and Cosmote chairman Mr Panagis Vourloumis, while Mr Panayiotis Germanos has been accused of money laundering and breach of trust.

Cosmote has acquired the largest phone retailer Germanos in 2006.
