Today's decline of the SOFIX blue-chip index was the 81st since the beginning of the year, a check-up conducted by Profit.bg shows. The index has advanced in 52 sessions in 2008.

SOFIX posted its biggest loss on January 2, when it shed 6.59%. Five days earlier the index had lost 5.06% in one day.

The blue-chip index advanced by more than 6% on January 25, which is also the biggest daily gain so far this year.

The broader BG40 index posted its biggest drop this year on January 21 (-8.41%). The index rebounded by 8.02% on January 25.

The SOFIX has lost 38.65% since the beginning of the year, while the BG40 has declined by 46.48% so far.
