Brokers: Positive Sentiment To Prevail on BSE
As usually on Monday Profit.bg talked to three market experts about their expectations for the weekly trade on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE). Here is what they had to say:
Stefan Angelov, broker, Varchev Finance
The gains of the international stock markets posted last Friday will have an effect the local market in the beginning of this week. I expect most market participants to switch their strategy from “sell” to “hold” and if the upward trend on the foreign market is confirmed, positive sentiment may prevail on the Bulgarian market as well.
The high volatility, the uncertain market conditions and the high risk still prevents many investors from replenishing their portfolios. The launch of the short selling on BSE, scheduled for this week, may be pointed out as another factor for the wait-and-see approach.
The retreat in oil prices and the rising dollar will definitely increase the expectations for bigger corporate profits.
Stock markets increasingly start to absorb the good news and to skip the bad news, which makes me optimistic about the trend of BSE's indexes this week.
Ognyan Dechev, executive director, Populiarna Kasa – 95
We will most likely witness a low-liquidity trade and low turnovers this week. It is still early for the consolidated reports and the H1 reports did not bring about any major positive surprises.
The ongoing withdrawal of financial resources from the mutual funds indicates that there might be new sell-offs on some of the positions. It seems more likely that the market will pick up in the autumn after the companies publish their reports for the first nine-months of the year.
Tihomir Kaundjiev, financial analyst, Beta Corp
My expectations are for a prevailing positive sentiment amongst investors on BSE this week.
This forecast is based on the signals for the recovery of the financial markets in Western Europe. I do not expect the daily turnovers this week to exceed the average for the last few weeks.
There are no big corporate events scheduled for this week, which means that the biggest movers may be mainly companies linked to speculative expectations related to the consolidated financial reports. The reports are scheduled to be published by the end of the month.
