Balkan's H1 Profit Slumps by 73% Y/Y, Revenue Drops 22%
Balkan AD posted 134,000 leva (68,500 euros) consolidated net profit for the first six months of 2008, down by 73.3% compared to the year-ago period.
The sales revenue of the company slumped by 22.5% to 5.174 mln leva (2.645 mln euros), compared to 6.678 mln leva (3.414 mln euros) for the first six months of 2007.
Balkan's business costs amounted to 4.933 mln leva (2.522 mln euros) in the first six months of the year, down from the 6.036 mln leva (3.086 mln euros) booked for the corresponding period of 2007.
The assets of the company came to 14.5 mln leva (7.41 mln euros) as at the end of June 2008, compared to 13.6 mln leva (6.953 mln euros) a year earlier. Balkan's liabilities stood at 3.488 mln leva (1.783 mln euros).
The issued capital of the company amounted to 630,000 leva (322,100 euros), while the equity capital stood at 10.7 mln leva (5.47 mln euros), up from 10.57 mln leva.
Balkan's stock was last traded on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) yesterday at prices ranging between 6.60 and 7.54 leva per share.
