SOFIX Below 1,000 Points, Hits 23-Month Low

The blue-chips index SOFIX slipped 1.32% today and closed at 996.26 points. This is its lowest level in 23 months, or since 3 October 2006.
The broad BG40 fell by 0.40% to 245.02 points, which is a new 16-month low. Total daily turnover reached 4.21 mln leva (2.15 mln euros), of which 40,000 leva in OTC transactions.
Sopharma and Chimimport closed on negative territory today, losing 3.83% and 1.25% respectively to 4.02 leva and 7.95 leva.
Eurohold Bulgaria declined 3.65% to 4.67 leva at a turnover of 20,000 shares. The price ranged between 4.62 and 4.80 leva.
Other decliners today were: Industrial Holding Bulgaria (-1.84%, 5.85 leva), Synerhon Holding (-2.36%, 6.20 leva) and Holding Roads (-0.86% , 17.35 leva).
Himko gained more than 23% today after 143,000 shares traded hands at an average of 0.17 leva.
Orgachim climbed 1.84% to 166 leva and Petrol Jsc added a little over 6% to 9.45 leva a piece.
Corporate Commercial Bank rose 1.45% to 91.30 leva.
