Bulgarian Indexes Extend Losses This Week
Another negative week ended today in spite of an optimistic start on Monday.
SOFIX hit a two-year low today, after falling 0.71% to 959.17 points. The indexes was last around those levels on 28 September 2008.
BG40 declined 0.76% to 234.24 points, BGREIT slipped 0.38% to 84.13. BGTR30 closed at 628.78 points, or 1.24% below opening.
Indexes are down on a weekly basis as well. The blue-chips lost 1.9% over the past five days, BG40's weekly loss is 1.19%, and BGREIT and BGTR30 dipped 1.63% and 1.54% respectively.
If we look at indexes' performance so far in September, we see that6 SOFIX is the biggest decliner (-5%). Next are BG40 (-4.78%), BGREIT (-1.15%) and BGTR30 (-3.9%).
Today's turnover was relatively higher compared with the past several sessions, at 7.79 mln leva (3.98 mln euros). The value of OTC transactions stood at 331,000 leva.
107 stocks were traded today, of which 25 closed on positive turf.
Just eight stocks in BG40 hiked their market capitalizations this week. Sopharma was the top gainer for the period. Shares closed at an average of 3.85 leva today, which is 6.94% up from last Friday.
FIBank ranks next. This week the bank was among the few actively traded stock. It added 3.88% to an average of 6.16 leva apiece. We must also note that trade on the position accounted for a considerable part of the weekly turnover on BSE.
Odessos Ship Repiar Yard is the third best performer in BG40 (3.84%, 228.22 leva).
The biggest decliners are Chugunoleene (-10.27%, average 16.16 leva), Balgraska Roza Sevtopolis (-10.06%, average 1.43 leva) and Losmko Pivo (-9.29%, average 2.54 leva).
